The client

C&MA is the Canadian denominational head of the Alliance Christian church. The Alliance church of Canada does an incredible job at mobilizing missionaries, sharing the gospel of Jesus and supporting its 430+ churches around the nation of Canada. Bi-annually they host a general assembly, and in 2014 they hosted the event in Ottawa... Our City!

The challenge

Our challenge was to assemble a 5- man crew to film and project live footage of the weeklong event onto a 125 foot screen at Ottawa's Shaw Centre (Ottawa Convention Centre). We were also tasked with the responsibility of recording all sessions throughout the week.

The solution

In a collaborative effort with our client C&MA, our live video production crew designed the technical video setup and planned the live video production. We developed a 3 angle shoot with broadcast cameras and a switcher, to work closely with C&MA media producers. They integrated our footage into the overall production plan for the sessions (Running video upstream). C&MA conducted a very well-executed event, and we were elated to have had the opportunity to partner with them in creating an engaging visual experience for their attendees. The C&MA's got SOUL.

Our photographers thoroughly enjoyed capturing this "larger than life" church event. This 125 foot screen and elaborate lighting setup proved to offer us a great experience as creatives. The colour, emotion and passion that was exhibited throughout the event really made us remember how important it is to immortalize a great event.

Godzspeed's video team on location

Our production team had a great time covering this event, fellowshipping with our team and eating awesome food (courtesy of the chefs at the Ottawa SHAW Centre). We would love to cover the next one in beautiful British Columbia in 2016!
