The Ottawa Catholic School Board caters to elementary, middle school, and high school students in the Ottawa Valley and surrounding areas. The school board's commitment to excellence has ensured a heightened learning experience and a support system that is engineered to see students succeed in and out of the classroom. They are such a wonderful institution to work alongside.
Our challenge was to direct and produce an array of corporate film/ video for various internal departments. The Family Welcome Centre required 3 testimonial videos and an informative corporate film. The adult ESL group required a documentary-style short film that conveys the heart and soul of their adult ESL programs. Continuing Education required a recap film/documentary chronicling the events at the St. Nicholas Adult H.S. graduation.
For the Family Welcome Centre, our production team set out to capture real, honest, un-staged footage of their learners in the classroom (4 schools in total) where we interviewed students, teachers and program coordinators. The end result is a 7- minute documentary with captivating footage of the interactions between learners and their dedicated instructors. The St. Nicholas graduation recap film was shot at Centerpointe theatre and we conducted interviews in our offices at Godzspeed. We interweaved staff interviews with emotional footage from the grad ceremony to tell the story. For the Family Welcome Center, we conducted a simple interview- style testimonial shoot for 3 interviewees and used B-roll footage, which we captured inside the Family Welcome Center to add a dynamic touch. OCSB's got SOUL.
We enjoyed our portrait sessions with many of the amazing students and educators of the OCSB. On the video set we conducted quick, intimate shoots in efforts to capture the amazing emotions of joy and pride that these students and teachers felt while being recorded on film. Don't take our word for it, look how beautiful these people are. #ForeverPhoto
Our production team set out on multiple occasions to capture the essence and soul of the OCSB's Adult ESL, Continuing Education, and Family Welcome Centre programs. We shot using a combination of DSLR's and film cameras to edit emotional, narrative documentary- style films.
