Project Impact
Case study Summary
Nike is committed to building, nurturing, engaging, and doing life with their community.
As the official sponsor of the Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations (OFSAA) Track & Field Championship, Nike proudly activated their pillar of community through meaningful connection. They invited one of their athletes, Canadian Olympian Kyra Constatine, to visit and encourage the young athletes at the event.
Kyra received a warm welcome back to the OFSAA championship, where she herself won three gold medals and set a meet record in 2013.
We were honoured to document Kyra’s return — an inspiring, energizing, and a vivid illustration of what it means to give love back to one’s community.
Before we even switched a camera on, we spent time with the <PO> on site to ensure a crystal-clear understanding of Nike’s brand presence at the OFSAA event. They provided us with diagrams of how the brand was positioned, details on the ethos they wanted to portray, and a deep dive into how Nike communicates their pillar of community. We appreciated the abundance of information shared during this crucial time — a deep level of understanding enabled us to be poised to tell both Nike’s and Kyra’s story once the camera was rolling.

About the Client
Case study Summary
Nike’s reputation as an international megabrand is built upon their enduring, genuine connection to all things grassroots.
Whether their athletes are everyday folks or legendary celebrities, Nike celebrates the challenges and successes that’ve shaped each person’s journey to achievement.
These journeys are made possible through discipline, grit, and — most importantly — community.
Kyra Constantine made her Olympic debut at Tokyo 2020. But her athletic success has deep roots that reach back to her childhood. Kyra started running cross-country in grade three and began competing track in grade five. Fast-forward to 2013, when she broke records and earned gold medals at the OFSAA Track & Field Championship. Kyra went on to represent Canada at the Nanjing 2014 Youth Olympic Games and won gold at the 2018 NCAA Championships and the 2019 NACAC U23 Championships.
Her return to OFSAA for the Nike shoot was a heartfelt nod to her youth spent in sport, participating and achieving alongside fellow student-athletes.
