Our process quickly determined that To Do-Done was evolving from a handyman service into something much bigger. They wanted to engage commercial clients while keeping the same human touch that separated them from the competition. From that starting point, we were able to discover the big idea that brought everything together: making things better. From the smallest handyman job to the biggest commercial fit up, TDD’s focus is on making the lives of their clients better. That desire goes so deep that they even want to change the entire industry, making contractors champions of customer care.

Let’s make it better.

TDD knew they needed a slogan that didn’t just communicate their value, but helped build a community around their business and their values. They wanted everyone to hear their heart every time they heard their name. Let’s make it better. Let’s make it better is deeply rooted in their overall effect on clients: they want to improve lives, help clients feel better, build safer homes, and overall just help people’s lives make more sense at home and in their business. They want to change everyone’s To Dos into Dones.

New positioning, new name.

Their old name — To Do-Done Handyman Services — limited how they were seen by their potential clients. By breaking down their service offering into larger categories, we were able to keep the heart of their name, while repositioning them as more than just handyman services: To Do-Done: Interiors, Exteriors, & Maintenance.

Brand Design

Putting purpose on display.

TDD’s logo already had local brand equity, so instead of redesigning it completely, we decided to revisit their palette. Their original colours lacked an empathetic look and feel; we felt this was a necessary component. We wanted to bring the spirit of the owner back into the brand’s expression. We added a pastel purple that speaks to serenity & human dignity, and a coral that speaks to health & vitality. By bringing in their slogan to all of their collateral, we are able to put TDD’s purpose front and centre.

A film of caring.

TDD is a different kind of renovation company: they’re female led, highly caring, young, and truly trying to make things better. Our approach was to capture all these things in their brand film. Tonya rides her bike, over audio of a phone call between her and a worried client. Tonya listens, understands, and is ready to offer real solutions. We conveyed Tonya’s caring heart and the way this makes life better for someone who needs help. TDD so special not only because of the quality of their work, but due to the empathetic and honest spirit of this female-led business — that’s what we captured in their brand film.

Expressing your identity online.

Our challenge was to maintain all the technical SEO that TDD had invested in over the years while shifting the messaging to be more human, empathetic, and playful. We crafted a website that was bold, authentic, and engaging, yet informative and technical enough to win a visitor’s trust. By introducing the new colours, we brought life, clarity, and sincerity to the website. The custom video we shot gives visitors clear and memorable insight into the passion and pride that TDD exudes in every job.
